Mission Statement

Our mission is to aid the Ghanaian people in breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and mental illness through positive affirmations and increased awareness of the issue.

About

Mental health is an issue that has been at the forefront in recent times. With over 703,000 people globally taking their own life in 2022 (WHO, 2022), this problem isn’t going anywhere. In Ghana alone, there are an estimated 2.2 million people suffering from mental illness (Testa, 2020). Even though this issue is obviously prominent, there still seems to be a stigma around it. People in Ghana tend to keep their mental struggles to themselves for many reasons, Some of the most feared being labeled as unholy, obsolete, or crazy (Columbia Public Health, 2017). The goal of this project is to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage good mental health for all in Ghana.
